Natalie Vella is an award-winning Melbourne writer, podcaster and filmmaker of Sri Lankan/Maltese background living on the lands of the Bunurong people of the Eastern Kulin Nation. She is the founder, executive producer and host of the literary podcast Memoria, which explores the slices of life and has run for multiple seasons since 2017, earning a finalist spot at the 2019 Australian Podcast Awards.

A graduate of RMIT’s Professional Writing and Editing degree, Natalie’s fiction has placed in the Apollo Bay WordFest, My Brother Jack Awards, Untitled Short Story Competition, Furphy Literary Awards and the Palliative Care NSW Grieve Project, and her writing has appeared in ABC News, Neos Kosmos and SBS Life.

Her filmmaking credits include directing and curating the Sexy Paris International Film Festival, shooting short documentaries for 40K PLUS, and acting in Anna Kannava’s feature film Kissing Paris.

She has also worked in communications and digital content for RMIT University Gallery, Fitzroy Legal Service, RANZCOG and AUScelerate.
